Synopsis
The film is set in Morro do Vidigal, one of Rio de Janeiro’s most famous favelas. Rita needs to give her son Léo a party that means a lot to her. Rita discovers that all the money for the event, which she had been saving for months, has been stolen by Dudu, her husband, who has run up a dangerous debt with the locals and needs to pay it off urgently to preserve his life. After this disappointment, Rita, who earns her living working on the beach, has to race against time and the plot unfolds through Rita’s search for ways to make Léo’s party possible and save the life of her son’s father. To do this, she will rely on her network of friends.
